Bio

With over 12 years practicing corporate law and 10+ years in economic development, business development, marketing, and operations, Maggie has a proven track record of building and leading programs and teams in both non-profit and for-profit sectors.

Maggie’s legal practice began at Stoel Rives LLP in its Business Services Group.  From there, she joined the faculty at Lewis & Clark Law School, where she taught and launched the Small Business Legal Clinic (SBLC), which continues to thrive.  While at Lewis & Clark Law School, Maggie saw how the legal field can impact social and distributive justice, so she pivoted her career to focusing on economic development and economic justice.

Maggie served as VP of Investor Stewardship at Greater Portland Inc., a private-public partnership focusing on business expansion and recruitment to the State of Oregon.  She went on to become the President & Executive Director of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN), helping entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses.  She has also worked for Business Oregon in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship group.

Maggie has received numerous accolades for her work, including the Portland Business Journal’s “Women of Influence” Orchid Award (2011), the SBA’s Women’s Business Champion Award for Oregon and the Northwest Region (2010), and the Portland Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award (2007).

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Maggie coaches alpine ski racing to kids 10 and under.  She loves skiing, running, and exploring Oregon in her camper van with her son and their Bernedoodle, Snickers.

Maggie is known for her ambition, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to education and economic justice, making her an invaluable resource for solving challenges and connecting with the right people.

She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a JD from the University of Oregon School of Law where she was involved in Law Review. She is licensed to practice law in Oregon.
